A memorial to the Bomber Command in London’s Green Park has been vandalised, and sadly its the fourth time this has happened in the last six years.

Scumbags appear to have thrown white paint over the entire memorial which includes a statue of eight Bomber Command crew members. The RAF Benevolent Fund report that another memorial in the park has also been targeted.

Chief Executive of the RAF Benevolent Fund David Murray said: “The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud to serve as guardians of the Memorial, built to commemorate the 55,573 members of Bomber Command who died in its service during the Second World War.

We are shocked and saddened to see that the Bomber Command Memorial has once again become a target for vandals, for the 4th time in 6 years. Paint has been splashed across the entire Memorial. “This is the worst example of vandalism we have seen at the Memorial and it is utterly heartbreaking to see the memory of all those brave airmen disrespected in this way.

“This despicable act took just moments but will take considerable time and resources to put right. But like the remarkable men who the Memorial commemorates, we will not rest until we have finished the job.”

There is a cash reward for anyone who can help find the disrespectful yobs responsible, with The Sun offering £5,000.
