A large number of people have taken to the streets of the capital city today to protest the United Kingdom’s lockdown measures that have restricted the liberties of millions of British citizens under the pretence of reducing the rate of infection for the coronavirus.
Footage that has emerged on social media shows crowds of hundreds if not thousands of protesters on the streets of London, many in the crowd could be heard chanting: “Stand up! Take your freedom back, take off your masks”.
One protester held a sign reading ‘COVID1984’ as they marched down Oxford street.

A young schoolboy attending the protest held a sign reading: “My teacher says I’m not allowed to speak at break or lunch time because I am mask exempt #SaveOurChildren!”.
There appears to be a significant Police presence at the demonstration with Police Liaison Officers and regular Officers seen on various videos doing the rounds on social media.
Paul Brown wrote on Twitter: “London Anti Covid Protest
‘Stand up! Take your freedom back, take off your masks’
“Estimated 5000 anti lockdown protesters, Oxford Street ….. lots of police present”.
