Riots have occurred in Belgium where rioters have attacked the king’s car with him inside. The violent unrest in Brussels occurred following the death of a black man who died in police custody after he was arrested for breaking the country’s coronavirus rules.
King Phillipe was in his car travelling to the Palace of Laeken which is his official residence when protesters began to attack his BMW with projectiles. The vehicle then quickly sped off whilst being protected by the king’s security detail. UNN’s Oliver Down understands that more than 500 protesters were present at the protest with some of them holding Black Lives Matter signs.
